The Website:

All the text, images, graphics, logos, artwork and other content on this website is owned by Village Wines, and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.  No part of the website may be reproduced without Village Wines prior consent.

The Contract:

By purchasing goods from Village Wines you are entering into a legally binding agreement with us on the following terms.  It is important that you read and understand these terms because they affect your rights and liabilities.  Your statutory rights are not affected.

These terms describe the basis for purchase by you (the customer) and sale by us (Village Wines) of the products described on this web site.

  • Details of Order

The quantity, quality and description of the products you will receive will be those set out in your order. Bottle size is 75cl unless otherwise stated. Due to vintage fluctuations the alcohol contents stated are approximate.

Orders are accepted at the sole discretion of Village Wines but are normally accepted if the products are available, the order reflects current pricing, you are based in the Delivery Area and your credit or account card is authorised for the transaction.

With regards to food hampers please see special conditions of purchase.

  • Price of Goods

All prices quoted include VAT. Village Wines reserves the right to change the prices of our products at any time and without prior notice.

  • Availability Of Goods

Where a vintage is no longer available, the next vintage will be substituted unless otherwise requested. Should a particular wine be unavailable we will notify you.

  • Risk and Ownership

Risk of damage to or loss of items purchased from Village Wines passes to you at the time of delivery.

You will only own the goods once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full.

  • Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms will be governed by English law and any disputes will be resolved exclusively by the English Courts. 


Village Wines accepts payment using all major credit and debit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro, Solo and Delta

We will charge your credit or debit card account for payment upon receipt of the order. If delivery cannot be fulfilled within 30 days we will contact you to determine whether you wish to proceed with the order or would prefer a refund. 

We accept no liability if a delivery is delayed because you did not give us the right payment details.

If payment has not been received in full prior to delivery of the goods we reserve the right to cancel the contract or suspend any further deliveries to you. This does not affect any other rights we may have.

Village Wines will take all reasonable care to keep all information connected with your order secure but we cannot be held liable for any loss that you may suffer if a third party obtains unauthorised access to any data, including credit and account details you provide when accessing or ordering from Village Wines, unless this is solely due to our negligence.



Whenever we can we try to deliver free of charge using our own vehicles. When distance dictates that it is not possible we employ the services of a reliable courier company,DHL Parcel that can safely, quickly and cheaply deliver amounts of wine ranging from one bottle of your choice to as many cases as you require.

POLICY: "It is our policy at Village Wines not to falsely inflate the prices of our wines so as to hide the true cost of delivery and protective packaging, charges for which we pass on below cost. Regrettably, nor will the profit margins that we work under allow for delivery to be further subsidised."



If the DELIVERY ADDRESS falls into the following post codes delivery will be FREE OF CHARGE

Otherwise the following charges to one destination will apply, for delivery and protective packaging to UK main land addresses only.
1 to 12 bottles £9.95
13 to 24 bottles £19.90
25 to 36 bottles £29.85
And so on up to 120 bottles

A wicker hamper basket is equal to 12 bottles of wine

Please contact us for:

  1. A quote for orders over 120 bottles to one address.
  2. Charges regarding international, Northern Ireland and the UK Islands deliveries
  3. Single orders requiring multiple deliveries

Please advise us in the Special Instructions Box on the payment page if it is acceptable to leave the consignment with a neighbour or at a designated place e.g. garden shed.
Village Wines shall not be held liable for loss or damage to unsigned consignments.


We deliver the products you order to the address you specify for delivery usually within 7 working days. However in exceptional circumstances, or in the case of a special order, please allow up to 30 days .Should there be a delay of this nature you will be notified.

IMPORTANT Policy & Terms/Conditions concerning National Delivery Service
Day Policy
1 The parcel is collected from Village Wines
2 The Courier driver attempts delivery, no one is home, a failed delivery card will be left at the premises.  If a telephone number has been provided, the driver will call the recipient in an attempt to arrange delivery.
3 The Courier driver will automatically re-attempt the delivery.  If again there is no one at home, then another card will be left.  The driver will once more attempt to telephone the recipient.
4 & 5 If unsuccessful on day 3 the consignment is returned to the depot where it is kept in safe storage for two days.
6 A third delivery attempt is made.  This time a card will not be left.  If unsuccessful Village Wines will be contacted for further instructions.  We will contact you for further information.  This may result in the consignment being returned.



  1. If Village Wines are charged by the courier for consignments returned to them under the above policy.  Village Wines reserve the right to pass this charge on to customers whose consignments, regardless of the reasons, have been returned.  (This is based on the understanding that the courier has complied to the above policy.)
  2. Returned items will be charged for redelivery at the above rates on the instruction of the customer.
    • HELP US TO HELP YOU - To reduce the risk of return charges please note the following points:-
      1. Please supply typed not hand written instructions
      2. Please ensure all addresses are correct, current and complete with post codes
      3. Wherever possible please supply telephone numbers  (including mobiles) and E-mail addresses of recipient.
      4. Where feasible please advise recipients to immediately respond to the failed delivery card and liaise with the courier company's depot to arrange successful receipt of goods.
      5. Please do not attempt to instruct delivery where recipients are known to be away.
  3. Wines will be despatched for safety in the appropriate TRANSIT PACK.
  4. Consignments are fully Insured.


Returns & Refunds:

Please read the Returns Policy below before placing your order with Village Wines in case you wish to return your order for any reason:

  • Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Goods

In the unlikely event that Village Wines sends you a damaged, defective or incorrect order, we will of course replace or refund your purchase in full.

If you are returning an item to us because it is damaged, defective or due to an error on our part, you must return it within 30 days of receiving your order.  We reserve the right to charge you the price of the replacement item or to withold the relevant refund if you fail to return the original item to us within this time. Village Wines will refund you the cost of the item, the cost of delivery and the cost of returning the item in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase (e.g. if you paid by Visa, the money will be refunded onto your Visa card).  We will also refund the cost of gift-wrapping and other services provided to you in connection with your purchase, where applicable.  All refunds are made within three weeks of our receiving the returned item.

Please Note: Village Wines will check all items that are returned as damaged or defective.  In the event that we find no fault with any item, we reserve the right to recover the cost of the item and our expenses from you.

  • Simply Changing Your Mind

By law, customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within a “cooling off period” of 14 working days of the day after the date the item is delivered.

If you choose to return an item to Village Wines during this cooling off period and there has been no error on our part, we will refund you the cost of the goods only providing they are returned in the same condition as received i.e. the bottles are unopened and their labels are undamaged.  Village Wines will not, however, refund either the cost of delivery to you, nor the delivery charges for their return, unless they are being returned because they are damaged, defective or because of an error on our part. 

Although you are not required to give any explanation for returning the product during this cooling off period, Village Wines appreciates all positive and negative feedback from our customers in order to help us improve our products and services for the future.

Village Wines reserves the right to refuse any returns.  This does not affect your statutory rights.
